FAQs
What is community participation?
Community participation offers the chance to connect with like-minded individuals and become active members of your community. It's easy to withdraw and avoid contact when it feels more comfortable, but community participation encourages us to meet new friends, enjoy time in nature, and break away from our daily routines. Most importantly, community participation is all about having fun!
What types of community participation activities does Infinite Home Care offer?
We provide a variety of fun and engaging activities designed to enhance your socialization skills, help you make new friends, and, most importantly, assist you in achieving your goals.
During your activities, you’ll usually be accompanied by a Support Worker who is there to provide assistance whenever needed. Some of the activities we offer include:
- Volunteering at a local charity
- Going on a group holiday with friends
- Attending a movie or concert
- Visiting the park
- Joining a club
- Participating in a TAFE program
- Exploring the library, and much more!
What makes your community participation program different?
Our community participation programs stand out for several reasons, but a core philosophy at Infinite Home Care is our commitment to seeking feedback from our participants. It's crucial that you not only enjoy the activities but also feel they are helping you achieve your goals.
Not ready to dive in just yet? You’re welcome to observe and see if the activity suits you. If you’ve tried something but don’t feel it’s right for you, feel free to explore other options!
We want our participants to know they are in a judgment-free space where they can voice their opinions and provide feedback on their experiences with confidence.
Why is community participation important?
Engaging in community participation programs offers a host of incredible benefits:
- Develop your socialization and communication skills.
- Gain a sense of accomplishment by stepping out of your comfort zone.
- Contribute to enhancing your local community through volunteering.
- Work towards achieving your independence milestones.
- Actively challenge stereotypes and demonstrate that individuals living with a disability can accomplish anything!
